For professional teams:
KLS
Tyrewarmers:
Carbon fiber,
temperature controlled and
temperature selectable tyrewarmers
for rapid and even heating!
Don't waste
valuable time heating your tyres:
KLS tyrewarmers need
only about 30 minutes
to heat the tyres to 80°C and the rim to about 40°C!
Don't burn out
your tyres with excessive heat:
What is the risk for your tyres, if
you are using hot metal wire for heating?
The Temperature selection of 80°C / 60°C of KLS tyrewarmers:
The lower temperature level helps to save more grip:
Always to use whenever possible and for heating your long heated, backup
tyres.

|
All "Pro GP-3D"
tyrewarmers with a temperature switch for control of two tyre temperatures. |
|
|
|
|
A small switch (see photo below)
for temperature selection provides selection of two different heating
temperatures.
The reduced temperature can be generally used
to minimize the risk of loss of grip whilst heating the tyres with too hot
temperatures.
It can be useful heating qualifiers, rain tires
or slicks when track or air temperatures are high.
Especially necessary for backup tyres, which
will be heated for a long period of time for later use |
 |
|
Its a rule: Whenever possible, tyres should be heated on
lower temperature levels!
|
|
Our recommendation:
Start heating on higher position "2". When you
can feel the rim is getting warm, you can switch back to the lower level "1"
and continue heating on lower, but grip saving temperature level.
This procedure ensures no loss of grip e.g. of
backup tyres, which are prepared for later use and are to be heated for more
than 60 minutes! |

types of KLS tyrewarmers available:
-
"Sport" type:
The new KLS
tyrewarmer for limited budgets!
-
"Comp" type:
Our Standard
quality in tyrewarmers!
-
"Pro" type:
Our top product for professional riders
and teams providing a
Temperature-selector,
80°C (175°F) / 60°C (140°F),
60°C (140°F) to keep warm (backup-) tyres for a long period of
times with no negative influence to the grip of the tyre, but
less minutes (about 5 min) necessary to heat it up again to 80°C
(175°F).
The lower temperature can be used too for slicks at high air-
and track-temperatures, but also suitable for heating of heat
sensitive soft rubber qualifiers to rain tyres without hardening.
Common benefits:
-
tyre temperatures: 75 - 80°C
(175°F) after only about 25 minutes of heating and
-
Temperature of the rim about 40°C
(100°F) after about 30 minutes of heating, controlled by a
thermostat;
-
Flexible carbon mat using heating
filaments with a total length of up to 200 metres per
tyrewarmer, for rapid and absolutely uniformly temperature
rise;
-
No local temperature peaks causing
rubber hardening;
-
No loss of grip before racing
whilst heating up the tyres as most tyrewarmers with short and
hot metal wires do;
-
Heating up of tyre and rim
for the best thermic conditions of the wheel, heating absolutely
uniformly and the whole area of tyre;
-
Printing
available with any individual names or logos
-
With special airtight, waterproof
and heat resistant "SuperTex" cover:
bright
colours, dirt resistant,
cleanable and for quickest heating available of the tyre.

Detailed Description:
10 out of 13 World Superbike Champions since 1990 all trusting
KLS tyrewarmers!
|
Why warming up tyres?:
-
A cold
tyre needs at least 10 minutes driving to reach it's best working
temperature.
-
It is
not possible to get a sufficiently hot tyre and rim only by
driving.
To achieve constant characteristics of grip, slide, suspension,
damping and abrasion a pre-heated tyre is needed!
-
At the
first laps a cold (and hard) tyre heats up very quickly on
extensively the upper surface of the rubber, burns it out causing
hardening of the surface and looses grip for the rest of the race.
Why "KLS tyrewarmers"?:
-
"KLS
tyrewarmers" eliminate all handicaps and risks of cold tyres and of
uncontrolled heating-up procedures.
-
To
achieve efficient tyrewarming the problem to avoid is heating the
tyre with too high local temperatures as most wire-based tyrewarmers
do at the contact line of the wire, which will damage or harden the
rubber-surface!
-
Such
equipment for tyrewarming, which is based on short, metallic wires
can cause this problems as the comparatively short wires will harden
the rubber at the contact line and spreading the heat unevenly
whilst the rim itself doesn't even reach the minimum temperature in
time!
KLS tyrewarmers . . .
-
completely solve the problem described above using a patented
technology for a even and uniform heating of the whole tyre, based
on carbon-heating filaments with a total length of up to 200 m!
-
rises
by this unique design the temperatures of the whole tyre surface and
the rim very quick and absolute uniformly;
-
all
have a new heat resistant warmth insulation (made by "Nomex")
and the air tight "SuperTex" cover which avoids heat
transfer to the outside for rapid and quickest heating of tyres
possible!;
-
control the warm-up by using accurate thermostats;
-
indicate by signal lights (unbreakable LED's) actually an operating
tyrewarmer and an operating power supply (GP-3D).
-
rise
the temperatures of the tyres up to 80°C (175°F) and of the rim
up to 40°C (100°F) within less than 30 minutes of heating. Thus the
whole wheel has the best condition for racing!
|
With Grand-Prix racing experience it has been found,
that the most important fact for tyre performance is, that for
the best thermic conditions inside the tyre a rim temperature of
about 40°C will be necessary! |
More advantages of KLS
tyrewarmers:
-
Test results from big tyre factories:
"The life of tyres will be increased
by up to 80% if they are consequently warmed up before with the
KLS-tyrewarmers!"
This means: The tyre protecting, wireless heating technology of
"KLS-tyrewarmers" saves tyres (and money)!
-
Temperature-selector,
80°C (175°F) / 60°C (140°F),

with no negative influence to the grip of the tyre, but less minutes
(about 5 min) necessary to heat it up again to 80°C (175°F).
The lower temperature can be used too for slicks at high air- and
track-temperatures, but also suitable for heating of heat sensitive
soft rubber qualifiers to rain tyres without hardening.

For professional riders and teams:
"Pro" |
|
What is the difference of the "Pro"
to the standard "Comp" version : |
|
+ |
|
|
In addition to
all the benefits of the "Comp" tyrewarmers: |
-
3-dimensional preshaping ("3D") by factory
for best warmth transfer especially to the sides
of the tyres
-
Asymmetric heater performance:
Higher heating performance to both side shoulders of the
tyres (+10%).
Very useful in a situation, when less time remains for a
sufficient tyre heating.
-
Higher durability
-
no local extensive bending of the side heaters,
-
more even warmth transfer.
-
Also available as
Ducati/Fogarty edition
for Ducati riders
|
|

|
|
Two unbreakable LED's: |
-
Green LED:

|
Indicates a "working
power supply",
If there is any problem with the power supply, the green
light will go to "OFF" and it can be reacted immediately to
avoid to have cold tyres. |
|
|
Indicates a "heating
tyrewarmer"
controlled by the thermostat. |
|
+ |
|
Temperature-selector:
to optimize the heating temperature for best grip at the
track. |
|
|
Standard
temperature for heating |
|
|
Reduced
temperature level to avoid rubber hardening and to maximise
the grip. It's possible if e.g. air or track temperatures
are very high. And it's necessary to heat qualifiers or rain
tyres! |
|
+ |
|
|
Special cover construction: |
-
for maximum even temperature level spread to the tyre
surface,
- to
protect the Tyrewarmer against dirt or stones adherent to
the tyres,
-
against any impact of water or moisture as well as for
-
increased electric insulation and for maximum personal
electric safety.
