Please note: The crash protectors are designed to be the first point of impact as the bike slides on its side in a crash.  When the bike then hits an object at speed, such as a kerb, generally the crash protector can or will break off.  If they were made so that they could not break, then serious damage could occur to the chassis, as that would absorb the impact.  But as the first point of impact, the crash protectors can help prevent damage to other parts, such as levers, footpegs etc.
